• Do you accept dental insurance?

Author: Dentists On Bloor | | Categories: Cosmetic Dentistry , Dental Clinic Toronto , Dentist Toronto

Yes we do. We are an assignment office which means our office will submit most insurance claims electronically to the insurance company and payment for dental services is sent directly to Dentists on Bloor. You are responsible for the balance the insurance company does not cover at the time of the appointment. The insurance plan is a contract between the policy holder and the insurance company; however, we try to assist patients when possible.

  • Q: How long will it take to get an implant?

Author: Dentists On Bloor | | Categories: Dental Crowns , Implant Dentist

For each person this time will be a little different. It depends if you had the tooth missing for a long time or just had a recent tooth extracted. Once the implant is surgically placed it will take approximately 4 months to integrate (fuse to the bone). After that has healed you will require 2 visits 2 weeks apart to receive the final crown restoration. There are few cases that a temporary crown can be placed the same day as the implant but allowing time to heal before the final crown is done.

  • Q: Why do I have to take X-rays?

    Author: Dentists On Bloor |

A:  A visual examination can only detect surface cavities. The x-ray helps to see under existing restorations and between teeth where to “naked” eye cannot. When we detect problems at an early stage the solution is simple. If we wait until we can see them it can be more complex to treat. Also an X-ray can show problems in the bone that otherwise would not be seen and can go undetected for years. We recommend x-rays on an individual need based on what we see or don’t see from a visual exam.
